Welcome

Some places you visit. A few you return to until the staff knows your dog’s name.

Morning light through old glass, coffee carried out to the long porch, fourteen keys on brass hooks behind the desk. Haven House has been slowing people down since 1962 — come for a night, stay until the valley forgets you’re a guest.

The Hearth Room

Dinner is a reason to stay in

One set menu a night, four courses, written that morning after the farm trucks come through. Trout from the valley, bread from our own oven, vegetables from whichever neighbor grew too many.

Everything is cooked over the hearth that gives the room its name — and its smell, which guests keep trying to take home.
